A Summer to Remember

Wow. I am still just blown away by the response to Homecoming ’22. I am so thankful for the ladies and gentlemen who planned and executed the plan with perfection. The fellowship hall has never looked better. The fellowship was amazing. And the worship service culminating in the partnership discussion was inspirational! Now, it’s time to turn our attention to a packed summer… A Summer to Remember!

Great Chapters of the Bible

I am excited to kickoff the summer with a new sermon series based on Spurgeon’s Commentary on Great Chapters of the Bible. Each Sunday morning we will explore one of these monumental chapters. Chapters like Hebrews 11; Psalm 51; Acts 2; Colossians 1; Isaiah 53; and others. We will get it all started this coming Sunday with Ephesians 1, a chapter which Spurgeon called the pinnacle of Paul’s writing. You will not want to miss a week of this series!

Midweek Lunch & Bible Study

With choir taking the summer off, we thought it would be a good time to try something new. Starting this Wednesday – June 1 – our adult Wednesday activities will shift from 4:30 in the evening to 11:30 in the morning. We will start with lunch followed by Bible study. After a lot of consideration, I have decided to tackle an extended study of The Revelation. Deadline to register is Noon on Monday, so shoot us an email. Leave Scott a voicemail. Or register and pay by clicking HERE.

Vacation Bible School

Sunday, June 5, is VBS training following the morning worship service. Lunch will be provided. VBS is scheduled June 26-29 from 5:00 – 8:00. We have needs in preschool, children, and middle school. If you are interested, or think you may be interested, plan to join us Sunday for a free lunch and training. You can register by shooting us an email. Leaving Scott or Carrie a voicemail. Or by clicking HERE.

Pray & Go

Our next Pray & Go will take place on Saturday, June 11, from 9:00 to 11:00. We will start with coffee and light refreshments in the Fellowship Hall before “hitting the streets” and praying for our neighbors and inviting folks to Vacation Bible School. Those who are not able to walk across the street will have the opportunity to pray over parts of the Children’s Building in anticipation of VBS and the start of school for Banks! You can let us know you are coming by shooting us an email. Leaving a voicemail. Or by clicking HERE.

Community Engagement

We will have two additional opportunities in June to serve our neighbors. The first will be hosting our neighbors for the 2022 State Primary Runoff Election on June 21. Be looking for more information as the date approaches. We are also planning Community Food Distribution during the month of June, although the date has yet to be finalized.

Daily Bible Reading

As we read a chapter a day (Monday-Friday), we are asking God to show us if there is a…

  • Sin that we need to confess.
  • Promise that we need to claim.
  • Attitude that we need to adjust.
  • Commandment that we need to obey.
  • Example that we need to follow.

Here is the reading plan for the next few weeks. Week of…
